Rap-rock supergroup Prophets of Rage is back to the music scene with a political song “Made With Hate.” The new song is the follow up of their last single “Heart Afire.” The group unleashed the mash-up of new material in “The Ballot Or The Bullet” last November. Check out the new music video of “Made With Hate” below.
Prophets of Rage consists of bassist and backing vocalist Tim Commerford, guitarist Tom Morello and drummer Brad Wilk (members of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave), DJ Lord and rapper Chuck D (two members of Public Enemy) and rapper B-Real of Cypress Hill.
The new song “Made With Hate” is potent. Morello provides lurking guitar riffs while Wilk lays down a gross beat. The two-and-a-half-minute banger focus on addressing their unsatisfaction about sociopolitical issues. To be specific, “Made With Hate” merges sharp and pungent lyrics with political philosophy to criticize the rise of modern Fascism. Chuck D leads the whole song and shouts with his powerful rapping voice, “This is not a drill, this is fascism, it is here, poised as a government takeover threat. Your region of the world, it is not alarmist to say these things. It is a simple truth.” B-Real choruses his discontent over fascist-tackling lyrics, singing “Made with hate. Against what hate made.”
According to the Consequence of Sound’s interview with Morello in 2019 Sonic Temple Festival, more music from the group are brewing and plan to be released this summer, in his words: “We’ve been working on new music. Hopefully, there’ll be new music out before the end of the summer … It’s like The Avengers — we all come together for the Infinity War!”
