Napalm Death Reveals Plans to Release a New Album in 2020

Napalm Death the British metal band that started back in 1987 are set to release a new album in early 2020. Frontman Mark “Barney” Greenway issued an update about recording sessions for the new album, “The new album is coming, we promise. Unforeseen circumstances and busy touring schedule have conspired to string it out quite a bit. It’s gonna be a multi-faceted rasper, though, I think. Some nice ‘n’ quirky cover songs too. All will be revealed soon — just getting on with artwork and last couple of lyrics and all the usual window dressing. Alongside that, if it comes off, a nifty associated split release with a very-definitely-not-grindcore band is in the planning, which will neatly skip around convention and stereotype. And why not.”

Last summer, they supported Slayer for the band’s final world tour. Napalm Death and Municipal Waste will tour across the United States with 17 stops in cities like Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The tour will also be supported by the bands Sick Of It All and Take Offense, as well as other groups at various different performances. Napalm Death released its debut album, Scum in 1987 and become one of the more well known death metal bands of the 1990’s. They also released a new live album earlier this year.

Napalm Death recently released “Call That An Opinion” from Coded Smears and More Uncommon Slurs which features tracks recorded 2004 to 2016. According to Loudwire, bassist Shane Embury stated “When I was compiling the track listing I was struck by how exciting again these tunes are to me. I had actually forgotten some of them, haha! We have written so many tracks and the years go by so quick that you forget just how fucking great these songs are!”
