The English electronic band, Above & Beyond consists of Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness, and Paavo Siljamäki. The group announced they will be releasing a new album, Flow State, which comes out July 19 via Anjunabeats. The promo video features a soothing voice that helps lull you into a state of relaxation and centered space. The reminder, “There is a place within you that is always at rest, always at peace, an aspect of your being that is always within your reach and yet somehow we all forget. Take one deep breath. And with this one deep breath you are safe, you are listening, you are seen, you are whole.”

Aside from releasing an album on meditation and mindfulness, which has 17 tracks the band also hosts a weekly radio show titled Group Therapy Radio. In a statement, the band shares “With the Flow State project, we want to help bring people’s attention and focus towards helping themselves find better mental fitness and overall happiness in life. Through raised awareness, being more present, one can reach a state of flow: a creative and free state of mind where time, fear and stress dissipate.”

In a statement from Grammy.com, the band shares “Flow State is the culmination of a journey which began at Burning Man in 2014. A chance encounter on the Playa led to a spontaneous sunset yoga set on the infamous Robot Heart stage, guided by renowned yogi Elena Brower. A magical and spiritual experience for those present, it inspired Above & Beyond to begin opening their biggest global gigs with yoga sets, creating transformative experiences for 25,000 strong crowds at The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington and Huntington Beach, California. The original Burning Man yoga set has subsequently gone on to amass over 2 million streams on Soundcloud.”

Flow State is a 49-minute experience and the three-song sampler EP of Flow State coincides with the June 21, International Yoga Day. India’s Prime Minister, Modi says, “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being.” The album will be accompanied by a 13-minute talk on self-acceptance from Brower.

In 2014, the band released Acoustic which was received well. Tony McGuiness said, “The acoustic project is a reconnection with the musicians that we were before we met … the songs have been on an interesting journey to get here because we tend to write in a fairly acoustic way anyway. We don’t just stick a bit of vocal over a dance track – that’s not how we work. We try to start with a song and it’s usually only later down the line that we take certain elements from that song and progress them into a more dancefloor-friendly version.”

Kelly Tucker: Originally from Los Angeles, I grew up listening to all types of music. My first concert was Aerosmith with Skid Row, then moved on to concerts with Metallica, Lollapalooza, Guns N’ Roses, Soundgarden and more. One of my favorite shows of all time was when I was in college and someone took me to see the Allman Brothers play. I also scalped a ticket to see Pearl Jam and the amazing Eddie Vedder sing his heart out. My professional career started in 2000 at Nielsen Business Media where I was an assistant in a sales department and later got promoted to advertising account executive. When the recession hit in 2008 and the magazine was sold, I took a job at a call center and later got promoted to assistant to the CEO and COO of a global company. In 2017, I took a position at a pharmaceutical agency, and now currently responsible for coordinating meeting logistics for physicians and pharma reps throughout the United States. In my spare time, I work at Peace4Kids a non-profit in South Los Angeles and write screenplays in hopes to make a breakthrough.
