Metronomy Announces New Double Album Metronomy Forever For September 2019 Release And Debut New Song “Salted Caramel Ice Cream”

Metronomy, the British indie-pop band, has announced a brand new album set to be released later this year. Announced as a double album, the project is titled Metronomy Forever. The album is set to be 17 songs long and will feature a wide range of sounds from the group’s discography. From ambient tracks to more direct pop tracks, Metronomy Forever is going to bring a lot of new material for fans of Metronomy. The brand new single from Metronomy Forever was released alongside the album announcement as well. The track is titled “Salted Caramel Ice Cream” and is the second single released from the upcoming album. The first single, which is called “Lately,” was released just a few weeks ago. Both of the singles have also had music videos released to accompany them.

Metronomy is a modern pop band from the UK that has been making music for over a decade. The group is most well known for their single “The Look,” from their 2011 album The English Riviera. Following the success of the track, Metronomy’s next album debuted at number 7 on the UK charts. The album, titled Love Letters, was released in 2016 and was the band’s last album before 2016’s Summer 08. Mxdwn was able to catch up with Joseph Mount, frontman for the group, following Summer 08’s release to talk about the album. Since 2016, the group spent time working on a tenth anniversary edition of their debut album, Nights Out, and recently announced a headlining tour in the EU later this year. Now the band has officially announced their new Metronomy Forever, giving the project a September 13th.

The new “Salted Caramel Ice Cream” single is a bright electronic pop song accompanied by an equally upbeat music video. Incredibly unique and stylized, the video features two rival ice cream shops competing to sell to the neighborhood. The entire video tells the story of a small town ice cream shop competing with a gelato store owned by a major corporation and eventually winning over the town.
