T.S.O.L Drop Satirically Dark New Track “Is This A Wonderful World?”

Punk band T.S.O.L (True Sounds of Liberty) has released a new track called “Is This A Wonderful World?” which is the band’s satirical take on the Louis Armstrong classic, “What A Wonderful World.” In a press release, bandmate Jack Grisham explained how the idea of the song came about. “it started as a lark, really. A friend asked if we could do a quick cover of ‘What a Wonderful World” and as we launched in, the words sat uncomfortable on my tongue.” He continued on to say, “Louie, sang about hope amidst the turmoil and I realized that hope had left the building.” The lead single’s accompanying video was also released, directed by Trevor Ward. See the visual below.

“Is This A Wonderful World?” follows the band’s most recent cover of “1 Thing,” originally performed by R&B star Amerie, released earlier this year. “I first heard Amerie’s “1 Thing” in 2005, when it was released. Fucking infectious man, the way that groove keeps rolling, and she’s such great vocalist,” said Grishman Both tracks are the band’s first release of new music in two years, with their last being 2017’s The Trigger Complex. The group has been around for decades, almost 41 years to be exact.
