mxdwn PREMIERE: Night Club Releases New Video for “Your Addiction” and Announces Fall 2019 Tour Dates

It’s been a few months since we last heard from our Best New Artist of 2018 Night Club. Today that changes as we’re pleased to premiere the Los Angeles duo’s video for their single “Your Addiction” as well as a fall 2019 tour schedule that finds the band performing in the Western United States and the South.

The song “Your Addiction’ features a pop-industrial backing with an ascending melodic line, with lead singer Emily Kavanaugh belting out “Let me get under your skin” and ‘I am your church these are your sins,” combining religious imagery with sensuality. The video features Kavanaugh front and center, earnestly belting out the vocals while multi-instrumentalist Mark Brooks provides the background instrumentation.

“‘Your Addiction’ was written about the toxicity of hating something to the point that you become addicted to it,” said the duo about the song. “But for the video we wanted to conjure up an underground horror movie vibe about The Church of the Anti-Heart — our logo, A cult of people that have lost their hearts through their addictions. Sort of inspired by Peoples Temple/Heaven’s Gate type cults through the lens of a John Carpenter/Sam Raimi flick.”

Additionally they’ve announced fall 2019 tour dates that will last through the end of October. The tour starts with a one-off show in the band’s hometown on Los Angeles at Bar Sinister before starting in earnest at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco, moving eastward through October.
