Noname Cancels Summer 2019 Tour Dates Citing Health Concerns

Chicago rapper Noname canceled her summer 2019 tour due to the continued health issue, Consequence of Sound reports. The independent rapper updated the news on her Twitter page on Thursday, tours in June and July are affected.

Without signing any label company, Noname has complete ownership of her music and decision. She explains the reason behind the cancellation:

“Due to continued health issues, I’m cancelling the [sic] my shows from June to July. I was really looking forward to seeing your beautiful faces, but I promise I’ll be back soon to make it up to you guys! Tried to push through it but things have gotten pretty severe. With lots of rest, medicine, and veggies I should be right back to normal! Hopefully in a few weeks time I’ll be back to my rapping and petty self lol.”

One of the most talented female rappers in the game released first studio albums Telefone and earned public recognition in 2016. In her 2018’s sophomore album Room 25, she talked about sharp topics from sexuality, race, politics and identity, that received universal acclaims and positive reviews from mainstream publications. Earlier this year, Noname unveiled new single “Song 31” alongside with announcing her North America Spring 2019 tour. Following up, she originally planned a new round of summer tour and dropped “Song 32” in April, a song that is noted for its commentary on American pop culture.

Before announcing the cancellation, Noname performed in the Governor’s Ball Music Festival’s ‘Gov Ball After Dark’ series on May 31 in New York, and also featured as the special guest in Anderson Paak’s Best Teef in the Game tour on June 1 in Toronto. Paak’s tour is still on the road until warping up on June 27 in San Francisco.
