Consequence of Sound reports, the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival expects to sell out festival tickets for the first time since 2013, the year Beatles’ Paul McCartney headlined. The annual four-day music festival inaugurated 17 years ago and is one of the biggest North America music festivals.
However, the music festival is not always on the roll. The festival only sold 45,537 tickets in 2016, which is around half of the seating capacity and below what the music festival expected. The number has been increased since then. About 65,000 tickets were sold in 2017, and 76,000 attendees joined in 2018. A week from now, festival organizers believe this year’s festival will hit 80,000 passes this year.
“We’re going into year 18, and as with any enterprise, there’s always a little bit of ebb and flow,” Bonnaroo co-founder Ashley Capps said, “It’s inevitable. But it’s certainly great to feel like we’re back on top of our game at this point. It’s exciting.” She adds, “There’s been a lot of focus on the 24-7 Bonnaroo experience, and making the festival an unforgettable weekend outside of having a great lineup musically.”
The big demand for this year’s tickets based on the high quality of fest lineup. Bonnaroo 2019 brings star-studded lineup featuring Childish Gambino, Post Malone, Solange, The Avett Brothers, The National, Kacey Musgraves, Cardi B, Brandi Carlile, The Lumineers, The Lonely Island and more. The festival also invites the pre-eminent jam band Phish, who rarely perform on music festival these days, to bring music energy to all the attendees.
2019 edition Bonnaroo festival will be held in Franklin, Tennessee at well-known Great Stage Park. The festival runs from June 13-16, check out the lineup and dates HERE.
