R. Kelly Faces 11 New Charges, Including 4 New Felonies, Can Face A Maximum Of 30 Years If Convicted

R.Kelly has been indicted with 11 new charges by an Illinois grand jury. The charges are in relation to his sexual assault and abuse cases. According to CNN, “the charges range from aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault to aggravated criminal sexual abuse,” according to court documents released on Thursday. As a result of the charges, Kelly can face up to 30 years in prison if convicted.

Kelly continues to say that he is innocent and denies the allegations made against him from Jerhonda Pace. Pace posted a message on Facebook, saying  “Yes, I am aware of the 11 new counts against R. Kelly. Yes, all new counts are related to my case,” she wrote. “Yes, I know his fans are mad about it. She continues to say “Please, DO NOT contact me telling me how I’m wrong for pursuing criminal charges all of these years later. Blah! No matter how ‘wrong’ you think I am, the law is on my side, a MINOR at the time. Carry on.” Kelly is scheduled to appear in court on June 6.

He recently was ruled against a judge for failing to appear in court and respond to lawsuit made by a woman who was allegedly abused by Kelly when she was 16 years old. The woman won the case by default. Prior to that, Kelly was arrested on 10 charges of alleged sexual assault that happened between 1998 and 2010.
