The San Diego based CRSSD Festival has announced the first phase of its fall 2019 lineup featuring Portugal. The Man, Kaskade, Hot Chip and KAYTRANADA. Other prominent artists such as vaporwave mainstay Yung Bae, techno legend Richie Hawtin and R&B singer Masego have also been added to this recent  line-up announcement. The festival is 21 and over only, and will take place at the Waterfront Park in San Diego, California from Sept. 28 to 29.

CRSSD originated back in 2015, as a sort of breakaway from the typical EDM scenes that populated the festival landscape of that era, which were more focused on trap producers. The first iteration of this fest featured prominent house and techno artists such as Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones and DJ Harvey among the likes of Chromeo and Empire Of The Sun.

CRSSD Sports three stages: Ocean View, the largest stage typically catered to a variety of popular acts, where headliners such as Portugal .The Man, Kaskade and Hot Chip will perform, City Steps, a small wooden stage catered toward techno and tech house acts such as Hawtin and Amelie Lens, and the tree covered Palms catered toward more house DJs. All three stages are within close proximity of each other, within three walking minutes from Ocean View to the palms.

Portugal. The Man recently teamed up with former Rage Against The Machine Guitarist Tom Morello for his track “Every Step That I Take,” of his feature laden album The Atlas Underground. This track was produced by EDM producer Whethan, and also references the passing of Chris Cornell, who worked with Morello in the supergroup Audioslave.

Hot Chip’s latest album A Bath Full Of Ecstasy is set to be released this upcoming June off Domino Records. This album was supported by the music video for “Hungry Child” which featured actor and actress Martin Starr and Milana Vayntrub undergoing a break-up.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting KAYTRANADA’s next full length album since the release of his debut album 99.9% back in 2016. Since the the artist has continued touring, supporting fellow producer FKJ in his recent tour stop in Philadelphia.
