Bikini Kill Announce Summer 2019 Tour Dates

Recently reformed feminist punk band Bikini Kill has announced their first tour dates in over two decades. The band recently announced they would be reuniting, performing a set of shows on Los Angeles earlier this month. Now the group has come out and announced they would be performing more shows over the course of 2019, putting together a full tour for this upcoming summer. Along with the announcement of these new tour dates, Bikini Kill also recently revealed they would are re-releasing two of their classic albums this year. The two albums are Pussy Whipped and Reject All American, both of which are now available on vinyl and CD for the first time in seven years.

One of the most influential and powerful female punk bands of the 1990s, Bikini Kill spent nearly a decade touring and creating music together before breaking up. Bikini Kill was one of the foundational bands when it comes to politically charged feminist groups, inspiring a variety of other female punk bands to come together in the following years. The band took a seemingly permanent hiatus in 1997 and up until this year had not performed together since. Now, the group is looking to bring their classic tracks to fans yet again with the upcoming set of shows this summer.

The newly announced tour will take place in three different cities, starting with a set of shows in New York. Following this, the group will head to London for a few shows before taking a break for the rest of the summer. In the fall Bikini Kill is slated to perform at the Riot Fest music festival in Chicago. This is the only music festival that the band is set to perform at, their first one in over twenty years. The full list of Bikini Kill’s upcoming shows can be found below, along with the band’s announcement of the re-release of their music.
