Knocked Loose Announce A Different Shade of Blue For August 2019 Release, Debut Powerful New Single “…And Still I Wander South”

The Kentucky Native hardcore band Knocked Loose, announced their highly awaited sophomore album A Different Shade of Blue on May 23rd, according to a press release sent to mxdwn. The band consists of five members; Bryan Garris on vocals and as a lyricist, Isaac Hale on lead guitar, Cole Crutchfield on rhythm guitar, Kevin Otten on bass, and Kevin Kane on drums.

Knocked Loose has been in the headlines recently as they have been playing a variety of venues, including the Majestic Ventura Theater in Ventura CA, and the the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles, according to mxdwn.

According to a press release sent to mxdwn, the album consists of twelve songs “that deal with all manner of anger, especially loss in lieu of absence.” Vocalist and lyricist, Garris, said that these songs will be his most personal thus far.

While you might have to wait until August 23rd to hear the full album, their second single from A Different Shade of Blue, “…And Still I Wander South,” is available now, wherever music is streamed and sold. The music video for “…And Still I Wander South” is also able to be viewed on YouTube as well and is a very well done, simplistic, music video that just consists of the band members performing the song in a blank room.

“….And Still I Wander South” is the quintessential hardcore song with heavy, growling, guitar and hard drums, with a soft guitar break in the middle. If you really look at the lyrics that are being screamed, you discover a broken man struggling to express his current unhappiness because he feels stuck in his life, which is exactly what Garris said he wanted to express in the press release sent to mxdwn. The final lines of the song are, “Trapped in my head/ Where the waters rest/ I’ve spent so much of my life/ Trying to get out/ And still I wander south,” which both gives the name its title and perfectly encapsulates the theme of the song.
