Cold Waves Announces 2019 Chicago Lineup featuring Test Dept, PIG And Pop Will Eat Itself

Mark your calendars because the industrial/goth music festival, Cold Waves Fest, recently announced their lineup for this year’s festival and it features some highly impressive names. The Cold Waves Fest, which has typically only been in Chicago, is branching out to Los Angeles and New York City this year, however, Chicago’s festival remains the largest of the three, according to Brooklyn Vegan. Chicago’s festival is being held at Metro with after shows at Smart Bar and Gman will begin on Thursday, September 19th and go through the weekend, ending on Sunday, September 22nd. The festival itself at the Metro is 18+ and the after shows at Smart Bar and Gman are 21+.

The lineup for September 19th for the Metro boasts sets from headliner Pop Will Eat Itself, which mxdwn previously reported on the fact that they will be performing at the Cold West Fest in Los Angeles as well as the one in New York City. Thursday night will also see performances by Chemlab, Acumen VS 16Volt, Curse Mackey and Bootblacks.

The lineup for September 20th for the Metro features headliners Nitzer Ebb and performances by Haujobb, Light Asylum, Klack and Wingtips.

Saturday night at the Metro will see a set from headliner Test Dept and the other acts for the night are Severed Heads, Adult., Kaelan Mikla, and Twin Tribes.

The final night at the Metro will be fronted by Filter and . announced their latest album Candy earlier this month; it will feature covers of iconic songs and is set to release in June, according to mxdwn. The other acts that will bring the festival to an end at the Metro are Paul Barker: MDSS, Street Sects and Haex.

The Cold Waves Fest after-show venue, Smart Bar, will see acts from Panic Priest and Conformco, as well as a set by DJ Shannon Funchess, on Thursday, September 19th. Friday, September 20th, Smart Bar will see performances by two live acts, Ivardensphere and Physical Wash and two performances by DJs Patrick Codenys and Patrixia. The final night at Smart Bar, Saturday the 20th, will see an act from Vatican Shadow and two DJ sets from Becka Diamond and Andi Harriman.

Sunday night at Gman will feature a DJ set from Sarah Graves and a mystery act marked by five question marks.

Tickets can be purchased here, however the four-day passes, both discount and VIP, are sold out.
