Mark Morton Of Lamb Of God Brings Out Mark Lanegan & Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix For Acoustic Set At The Sonic Temple Festival

At a recent acoustic set, guitarist Mark Morton brought out a number of guests from his recent solo album. Morton is known for his work as a member of Lamb of God, a heavy metal rock band. Recently, Morton has wanted to work on some solo material, which culminated with the release of a full solo project earlier this year. The album, titled Anesthetic, was released recently in March. Now, at performance at the Sonic Temple Art and Music Festival, Morton organized to have a few of those featured on his album together for fans. The performance took place on the ‘Zippo Sessions’ stage at the event this past weekend.

Morton’s debut solo album was a big undertaking for the musician, and the performer worked with a variety of different artists to make it happen. The album gained an incredible amount of hype earlier this year around one of its single, a track titled “Cross Off.” The song gained popularity due to it featuring the late Chester Bennington, a good friend of Morton’s prior to his passing. Bennington is one of the most well known rock musicians of the past few decades, with Linkin Park being known worldwide. The track “Cross Off” features vocals from Bennington, something long time fans had been anxiously hoping for in recent months.

At the Sonic Temple Festival this past weekend Morton’s set allowed him to perform live with some of those he had worked with in the studio, giving them a new setting to perform and spread their music. The performance had a different tone from the studio versions of the tracks, as this show was solely acoustic. Some of the artists the Morton brought out included Mark Lanegan and Jacoby Shaddix. Shaddix is known for his time as a member of the band Papa Roach, where he is the group’s lead singer. Morton and Shaddix performed the track “Sworn Apart” from Anesthetic, which Shaddix is featured on.
