Trivium Turn Up The Heat On Their Latest Single “Drowning in the Sound”

On Thursday May 16, Trivium released “Drowning in the Sound” a soaring new song that seems to be a holdover from The Sin and the Sentence sessions according to Loudwire. This is the latest music from Matt Heafy’s group since they covered “Type O Negative” in April and re-recorded their own past tune “Pillar of Serpents” a month before.

Although it had been publicly discussed by the group as early as last year, the new track had its official release this week following their summer European tour dates announcement. Other than this tour the group are by and large taking a break from touring.

Guitarist Corey Beaulieu discussed the band’s stay during a recent chat with radio station WSMC’s show the Metal Teddy Bear Experience. The show also included ongoing songwriting sessions for the band’s members. “We always are writing during downtime, so there’s always demos of riffs or songs,” waiting to be worked on, Corey revealed. If his timeline speaks any truth, a new album should be coming out within the next year.

One of the last lengthy North American tours happened in fall 2017  when the band trekked across the United States with While She Sleeps and Fit For An Autopsy. This tour was in support of their albums War Eternal and Silence in the Snow.
