Soundgarden Announce New Concert Album, Shows and Film: Soundgarden: Live from the Artists Den For July 2019 Release

American rock band Soundgarden has announced a new concert album, Soundgarden: Live from the Artists Den, along with a live video and immersive tours of the same name. Soundgarden has recently begun their set of immersive tours, and their concert album will be following shortly, as it is set to be released on June 26. The immersive events will be held across the country, with stops in Los Angeles and New York, as well as a screening of their live film at Showbox in Seattle, where the band first reunited in 2010 under the alias “Nudedragons,” an anagram for Soundgarden.

The live video will include clips of the band during Chris Corenell’s era as Soundgarden’s frontman, before his untimely death from drug overdose. Following Cornell’s death, the band seemed uncertain of the direction to take for the future. In an interview with The PRP, dummer Matt Cameron shared that: “We’re just still taking our time and giving ourselves space to process everything. We would certainly love to try to continue to do something, figure out something to do together,” and it seems that they have done just that. The shows will be both a celebration of the band’s past and a hopeful start for a new chapter. Vicky Cornell, wife of the late singer opened up about the live video, stating, “This live show was really special, and I know how much fun Chris had that night….The idea of giving fans the opportunity to experience it in its entirety is something I’m proud to share with them.” After a tough era for Soundgarden, the album and events will be a way for fans to mark their nostalgia and honor the band’s legacy.
