Desert Daze Announces New 2019 Headliners The Flaming Lips Performing The Soft Bulletin, Flying Lotus In 3-D and Parquet Courts

Desert Daze announced its 2019 headliners which includes an exciting special 20th anniversary performance from The Flaming Lips of their 1999 masterpiece, The Soft Bulletin, a U.S. music festival exclusive. Additionally, Branfeeder captain Flying Lotus is bringing his immersive 3D show to the ritual to support his long-awaited new album Flamagra. Other artists on the lineup include acts by Stereolab and Animal Collective. The rest of the lineup mostly remains a mystery, as the full Phase One Lineup Transmission is still to come.

Prior to Desert Daze, The Flaming Lips will embark on a twelve-date summer tour in support of their full-length studio album King’s Mouth: Music and Songs. The album is set for release on July 19 via Warner Brothers Record. The first date of the tour is on July 23 in Wichita, Kansas and then it wraps up on August 12 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Desert Daze, which takes place in Lake Perris, California, is an interactive experience as festival goers can go on nature walks and mountain hikes, watch artists from a floaty in the water or lounge at the Moreno Beach Club from one’s very own lakeside Obsidian Cabana with views of the Moon Stage. The festival takes place October 10 through the 13. Tickets are available now and can be purchased here.

UPDATE (6/9): Over the last few weeks Desert Daze has announced a plethora of new artists that will be playing its 2019 edition. These artists include Yonatan Gat & The Eastern Medicine Singers, Connan Mockasin, Surfbort, Temples, Fred Armisen, Dungen, Sasami, Nick Hakim, Viagra Boys, Diiv, Crumb, White Fence, Black Angels, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and Lightning Bolt. Stay tuned for more additions to what is already one of the most exciting lineups of the 2019 festival season!

UPDATE (8/6): Desert Daze has announced its Final Transmission for the 2019 lineup. New additions to the festival include two legendary acts performing beloved albums in full, plus a wide range of artists new and old. Heading up the final addition to the festival’s lineup include DEVO, who’ll be kicking off their farewell tour, Ween performing Chocolate & Cheese in full, Wu-Tang Clan performing Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) plus Khruangbin, Alvvays, Pussy Riot, Moses Sumney and Jessica Pratt. UPDATE (9/13): Though the last update was billed as the “Final Transmission” or final lineup additions, Desert Daze has squeezed a few more acts in. Added to the 2019 lineup as part of the Mystic Bazaar is Jacco Gardner, Klaus Johann Grobe, Sessa and Beef (Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint + Boom Bip). They’ve also added a live Q&A with Les Claypool and Sean Lennon, a screening of documentary We Intend to Cause Havoc (2019) with a W.I.T.C.H. Q&A, and sets from Dead Meadow and Richard Rose.
