Heavy rock band Baroness has released a new single from their upcoming album, Gold & Grey. The song is their fourth from the upcoming album and is titled “Throw Me An Anchor.” The track follows the previously released singles, “Seasons,” “Front Toward Enemy” and “Borderlines,” in putting the band’s powerful alternative metal stylings on display. The group has been heavily promoting the Gold & Grey album in recent months, and now the project is almost out. The full album is set to be released next month, on June 14.

Gold & Grey is going to be the last in what has been labelled the band’s chromatic themed projects. Stated by the band in an Instagram post in March, this album will be the final one in the set. Baroness’ previous few albums, dating back to 2007, have each been titled after a different color that is prevalent in the project’s cover art. The most recent album from the band, Purple, was another album in this set.

The first single released by Baroness for this upcoming project was “Borderlines,” which was debuted live while the band was on tour with Deafheaven earlier this year. Baroness performed the song to audiences at one of the first performances on the tour. Following this, the band released “Seasons” alongside a music video for the track, and then debuted “Front Toward Enemy” in collaboration with Adult Swim. The song is part of the recently released compilation album organized by the television network, Metal Swim 2. Along with the release of “Throw Me An Anchor,” Baroness also announced a European tour this fall. Starting in September, the tour will have the band visiting cities all across the continent. Tickets for the tour go on sale on May 24. The full list of tour dates can be found below, along with the new track “Throw Me An Anchor.”
