After recently releasing the 15th anniversary edition of Ashes of the Wake, Lamb of God has shared lyric video for the non-LP track “Another Nail For Your Coffin.” The song perhaps laments to trials of musicianship, as the lyrics remark: “At a loss for something different to say. I’ve said everything, we’ve said it all before. An extra nail for your coffin.”
As for the track not being included in the original album, guitarist Mark Morton commented: “Sometimes the reason songs get left off really just comes down to a vote. As I recall, there was some apprehension after I introduced that song, musically. The outro is this really soaring, kind of melodic, almost major-key piece. At the time, I think that some of the band members were a little apprehensive about stepping out of our lane to that degree.” The 15th anniversary edition of the album also features the non-LP songs, “Laid To Rest,” “Remorse For The Dead” and “Ashes of the Wake.”
Currently, Lamb of God is also in the process of writing and recording a new album after their 2018 cover album Legion:XX was released under the band’s original name, Burn the Priest. For the future of the band and the upcoming album, Chils Adler, the band’s dummer and founder, stated: “The band is in no rush to complete the album. So, it’s certainly possible that we’re able to fine tune everything prior to that, but I think it’s probably more likely that it’s going to get recorded in the fall of ’19, and hopefully out for Christmas presents for all your kids.”
