Against Me! announced their 2019 fall tour “2 Nights / 4 Records / 48 Songs” in support of their four classic albums Searching For A Former Clarity, New Wave, White Crosses and Transgender Dysphoria Blues. The trek embarks on May 17 at Pouzza Festival in Montréal, QC. Following the show, the tour will hit North America, stopping by cities such as Los Angeles, Toronto, ON, Boston, Baltimore, Sayreville, NJ and many more. Tickets are available now.
Formed by guitarist and lead vocalist Laura Jane Grace, lead guitarist James Bowman, bassist Andrew Seward and drummer Atom Willard, Against Me! was one of the biggest old school punk bands around in the late ’90s and early 2000s. The band leader and singer Laura Jane Grace, who released a solo LP titled Bought to Rot last year with the Devouring Mothers, shared the reason and intention of the upcoming tour:
“While working on new music this year — before we move forward into the future — we thought it would be fun to revisit the past, the albums that got us to where we are now. Like chapters in a book, there’s a narrative that flows through these four albums that we’ve never had the chance before to present in this context, as one complete story. I’m excited to share the songs as a whole in this way. This is probably the closest I will ever come to being a part of a ‘Rock Opera’ of any sorts.”
A follow-up full-length album of the band’s acclaimed 2016 album, Shape Shift With Me, is currently being recorded. The band also confirmed the news of their next full-length album broke during their performance at The Fest in Gainesville, FL from November 1-3.
