Ellen and the Degenerates with Valley Lodge & Top Nachos @ Bushwick Public House 6/1

Indie alt-rock punk gods Ellen and the Degenerates will be gracing us with their presence at Bushwick Public House in Brooklyn on Saturday, June 1st. Their set will also have ample support from Valley Lodge and Top Nachos, with first sounds beginning at 8:00pm. Tickets are going for quite a bargain at $10, and this event is restricted to those 21 years and older.

This Brooklyn-based crew was formed in September of 2015, and has released a multitude of demos and EPs since then. The group waited nearly three and a half years until February 2019 to release their proper debut album, Return of the Herb. And what an album it was: various punk music outlets, including Punk News, Sweet Static and Punk Rock Theory, raved about the album’s catchy hooks and well-crafted conceptualization overall.

This musical realization and praise won’t have room to evolve, though: just months after Return of the Herb‘s release, Ellen and the Degenerates announced details of their breakup. Although fans were crushed, the group decided to have one final homecoming show to mark their sendoff. That’s what makes this particular evening so special; having Ellen and the Degenerates’ share their music with some of their biggest fans and most dedicated listeners for the last time will certainly be a moment to remember.

Pick up your tickets fast – you’ll never experience a show like this again.

Melissa Aiello: Hi there, nice to meet you! My name is Melissa and I am a 24-year-old passionate lover of all things related to music and live entertainment. I've been singing since the second grade, and playing guitar for the past five years. I grew up in a fairly musical household, with my grandfather breaking out his accordion and starting sing-a-longs at every family gathering. It was here that I began falling in love with music and its power to change moods, emotions, and lives. My taste in music goes far and wide - you name it, I'll (probably) listen to it. My hundreds of Spotify playlists include everything from Biggie to ABBA to the Jonas Brothers (thank GOD they're back together) to Dolly Parton and everything in-between. I aim for my little corner of the internet to spread love and positivity for all this beautiful music, and give you the opportunity to see or hear artists you may otherwise have not heard of.
