Gov Ball After Dark: U.S. Girls @ Union Pool 6/2

Get ready for a wild ride: experimental pop project U.S. Girls will headline at Brooklyn’s Union Pool on Sunday, June 2nd. This show is yet another gem thanks to the Governor’s Ball Music Festival, whose ‘After Dark’ series showcases many of the festival’s notable indie acts at various New York City venues throughout Gov Ball weekend. Badge Époque will support, with the show beginning at 10:00pm sharp. Tickets start at $16-18 for General Admission, but have been climbing in price on third party ticket resellers as well. This night is exclusively for those 21 years and older.

U.S. Girls serves as the stage name for solo singer-songwriter Meghan Remy. She formed this onstage persona back in 2007 as an experimental musical project, which has definitely progressed well since: after releasing five full-length records through several different indie labels, she signed a multi-album deal with 4AD in 2015. So far, two records have come to fruition as a result – 2015’s Half Free and 2018’s In A Poem Unlimited.

U.S. Girls has built up a cult following for herself over the years, effectively showcasing her dynamic abilities as a songwriter, producer, and performer. Her talent is more relevant and prevalent than ever, and this show will certainly showcase it front and center.

Melissa Aiello: Hi there, nice to meet you! My name is Melissa and I am a 24-year-old passionate lover of all things related to music and live entertainment. I've been singing since the second grade, and playing guitar for the past five years. I grew up in a fairly musical household, with my grandfather breaking out his accordion and starting sing-a-longs at every family gathering. It was here that I began falling in love with music and its power to change moods, emotions, and lives. My taste in music goes far and wide - you name it, I'll (probably) listen to it. My hundreds of Spotify playlists include everything from Biggie to ABBA to the Jonas Brothers (thank GOD they're back together) to Dolly Parton and everything in-between. I aim for my little corner of the internet to spread love and positivity for all this beautiful music, and give you the opportunity to see or hear artists you may otherwise have not heard of.
