Mike Patton, current solo artist and vocalist for Faith No More, has announced two shows in Italy for summer 2019. The performances will include music from Patton’s album, Mondo Cane, his third solo studio album released in 2010. Mondo Cane is a cover album of Italian songs from the 1950s and 1960s that features a forty member orchestra and fifteen part backing band.

Patton’s concerts are a rare occurance. His only other live Mondo Cane performance was May 2018, once again through two concerts in Italy. The shows included covers of songs from Elton John to Slayer. He also performed “Chansons D’amour,” from an album that Patton recorded with French artist Jean-Claude Vannier. Though the album is finished, it is yet to be released. In a Facebook post announcing the tour, Patton explained that the Mondo Cane shows are so infrequent because it is hard to get the right groups to perform with, as there is such a large orchestra needed for the music.

In addition to his solo work and contributions to Faith No More, Patton has voiced characters in video games and has composed scores for movies such as the Netflix adaptation of Stephen King’s 1922 and director Derek Cianfrance’s The Place Beyond the Pines.

Patton’s tour dates this summer are set to take place in Prato and Milan in August and September accordingly, though, in Mike Patton’s words, “If we had it our way Mondo Cane would play everywhere.”

Tour Dates:
08/31 – Prato, Italy @ Prato Piazza Duomo
09/02 – Milan, Italy @ Teatre degli Arcmboldi
