Fyre Festival Founder Billy McFarland Plans to Write A Book About The Failed Festival

Billy McFarland, the conman who was charged with mail and wire fraud is supposedly writing a book about his experience. McFarland and the rapper Ja Rule used the power of social media to trick music listeners into buying $300,000 tickets for a fake music festival named, Fyre Festival. Blink-182, Kendall Jenner, Major Lazor,  Lil Yachty, and Bella Hadid were some of the alleged celebrities that were going to attend the festival. Fyre Festival was going to be an exclusive luxury music festival with an incredible line-up but when people arrived it was a disaster zone, literally. There were disaster relief tents set up for guests, no sign of musicians at all and little to no food. Thousands of people were trapped on an island for days. Due to McFarland’s fabricated lies, he is now serving a six-year sentence.

According to FADER, McFarland and freelance publisher, Josh Raab are collaborating on a book. The book was supposed to be released on Amazon in April but still has not been released. Raad and McFarland are currently working on a title currently the title is Promythus: The God of Fyre. Hulu and Netflix both released two different documentaries about the Fyre Festival in January of this year. McFarland is writing the book in order to combat the false narratives that he believes the documentaries display. He told Raab that the documentaries did not show “the ‘raw’ story”. The book is supposed to parallel with Jordan Belfort’s The Wolf On Wall Street and will be 800 pages documenting Billy’s actual stories of his life since 2011. When the book finally releases it will either be a national hit or untrust-worthy story that is pushed to the side.
