New Music Alert: Imani Coppola Celebrates Re-Signing with Ipecac Records by Releasing Politically-Charged New Song “Rattle”

Imani Coppola is gracing fans with new music. After recently signing back on with Ipecac Records, the singer celebrated by releasing  her latest single “Rattle.” The politically driven song “rattles your soul” as it discusses the country’s current state. In a press release, Coppola discusses the empowering song, stating “Without a doubt, I had been in the shadows for too long doing my best to pretend it all wasn’t happening,” She continues to say  “My soul was so rattled by everything I had done my best to ignore.”

Along with the song is its accompanying video directed by Anthony Cortez Fernandez. The video is also empowering, showcasing Coppola’s contagious energy and dance numbers. Check out the video below. More music is on the way for Coppola, but to the beat of her own drum. “I needed to make music as entertaining and upsetting as America itself is right now,” she says.

Ipecac Recordings Mike Patton discussed adding Coppola back on the label, stating “She has been part of the Ipecac family for a long time. As this batch of music proves, Imani remains a talented and innovative musician and it’s a true honor to offer our services as a platform for her art.” Ipecac Recording is also home to Faith No More, Tomahawk, and Dead Cross.

Coppola is best known for her 90’s hit “Legend of a Cowgirl,” which reached the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 and her debut album, Chupacabra, released in 1997, received much critical acclaim.
