Brandi Carlile Reveals New Project With Foo Fighters Frontman Dave Grohl

Although full details have yet to be disclosed, it looks like Brandi Carlile is involved in new project with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl. The Foo Fighters, while currently on a break, hasn’t stopped Dave Grohl from keeping busy with new projects, such as a new docuseries. His mother, Virginia Hanlon Grohl, also revealed that there will be an HBO film about his life, focusing on his career “from Scream to Nirvana to Foo Fighters”. Brandi Carlile could be apart of any one of these upcoming projects.

According to LOUDWIRE, Grohl and Carlile were seen in Seattle, where, what it sounds like an impromptu street performance took place outside of Pike Place Market. Group members of Brandi Carlile’s band, Phil and Tim Hanseroth, joined as they performed the Beatles “Let It Be” and the Foo Fighters “Times Like These“. In response to the performance, Carlile said “it was one of the most surreal moments of my life”. In an interview with Rolling Stone, she describes it as ” really full circle, and there was lot about that day that felt that way. Just the gravity of being with Dave Grohl and then being back at a place that I worked so hard and wanted so badly to make it, made me realize I have – and I don’t know how many times in my life I’ve realized that”.

The project still remains a mystery, “I don’t totally want to give it away, but he came out to my house to talk to me about something he’s working on. It’s more like one of his doc-series”. They spent time in Seattle going to places that were monumental in both of their lives as artists starting out. “We talked about and went to a few key places that were important in both of our lives, and places he used to hangout with Kurt Cobain and the guys”.

Whatever the project is, it sounds like it was a nostalgic trip down memory lane for the legendary artists Brandi Carlile and Dave Grohl.
