Eli “Paperboy” Reed with Brandi and the Alexanders @ (le) Poisson Rouge 5/2

(Le) Poisson Rouge is about to be drenched in sweet, sweet soul: heartfelt crooner Eli “Paperboy” Reed is headlining a show next week on May 2nd, with support from Brandi and the Alexanders and a DJ set by Mr. Fine Wine. Doors to LPR will open at 7:00pm, with Mr. Fine Wine taking the stage at 8:00pm. Tickets are $15 for General Admission right now – but if you choose to purchase last minute, they rise to $18 the day of the show. And kids, don’t bother coming out on a school night – this show is only for people 18 and older.

Reed has quite the sound. He describes the music on his latest record as “vintage R&B, soul, and gospel through the heart of a modern songwriter.” This performance at (le) Poisson Rouge is part of a larger tour aimed to promote this release, dubbed 99 Cent Dreams. After over a decade of performing and recording, Eli “Paperboy” Reed has truly grown and matured into his tailored craft through many instances of experimentation. Taking these new tunes on the road will surely please crowds of all ages.

Going on to support Eli “Paperboy” Reed are New-York natives Brandi and the Alexanders – an R&B group chock full of equal parts gravel and silk. Lead singer Brandi acts as the silk, with vocals reminiscent of some of the best divas out there; meanwhile, the Alexanders carry the grit and gravel that only comes with that of true soul-quenching classic blues rock.

Topping off the night is Mr. Fine Wine, a DJ with plenty of experience spinning the best in R&B and soul across the world. His residency at Manhattan bar Botanica was profiled by the New York Times and is proven to be a can’t-miss experience to say the least – and with this entire lineup, it looks like this show is going to be just the same.

Melissa Aiello: Hi there, nice to meet you! My name is Melissa and I am a 24-year-old passionate lover of all things related to music and live entertainment. I've been singing since the second grade, and playing guitar for the past five years. I grew up in a fairly musical household, with my grandfather breaking out his accordion and starting sing-a-longs at every family gathering. It was here that I began falling in love with music and its power to change moods, emotions, and lives. My taste in music goes far and wide - you name it, I'll (probably) listen to it. My hundreds of Spotify playlists include everything from Biggie to ABBA to the Jonas Brothers (thank GOD they're back together) to Dolly Parton and everything in-between. I aim for my little corner of the internet to spread love and positivity for all this beautiful music, and give you the opportunity to see or hear artists you may otherwise have not heard of.
