On April 21, fans walking by the Pike Place Market in Seattle, WA, received an interesting surprise as superstar rockers Dave Grohl and Brandi Carlile delivered a 20-minute acoustic set in front of the market, as Seattle Times reported. Singer-songwriter Grohl is the founder and lead vocalist of the rock band Foo Fighters.
According to Consequenceofsound.net, Carlile, a native of Ravensdale, Washington, had decided to randomly visit her old busking stomping ground when she invited twin guitarists/vocalists, Phil and Tim Hanseroth and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl to join her trip down memory lane. Together they covered The Beatles’ “Let It Be” and closed with Foo Fighters’ “Times Like These”.
This year has been one to remember for the 37-year-old singer. Earlier this year, Carlile won her first three Grammy Awards of her career.
Carlile recorded clips of the show on Facebook Live, later posting a picture with the caption, “Got nostalgic and decided to swing by my old busking spot @pikeplacepublicmarket with the twins and Dave Grohl…honestly one of the most surreal moments of my life.”
