Rodrigo y Gabriela Release Powerful New Song “Terracentric”

The dynamic duo, Rodrigo y Gabriela perform in perfect unison, while shredding on their guitar with new track, “Terracentric” which is out now. They will be releasing a new album on April 26 called Mettavolution which brings together their passionate interest in Buddhism. Their desire for understanding human evolution is expressed through the medium of two acoustic guitars. The band is touring April through July, playing shows in the United States, Canada and the US. The expertise throughout their music can uplift your soul when you take it in.

Rodrigo and Gabriela express, “Sometimes we need to be self centered in order to be the best version of ourselves for us and for others. Meditation is a good example of an individual practice that in fact is the most compassionate action we can do for everyone. Clearing the mind is not only for your own benefit but for the benefit of all living beings. Terracentric is an invitation to look inward, to be a little bit “selfish” for a minute and do what you can for your own sake. If we all did the same this world would be a very different one. Terracentric is the connection with this earth. Reconnecting with the so called reality of our human existence.”

The two have been playing music together for 20 years, however it has been five years since they last released an album. The new album, Mettavolution was composed in their studio in Ixtapa on the Mexican Pacific Coast, then road-tested in South America and the USA in 2017, before more fine tuning on their Australian tour of 2018. The album includes a long list of new material, which has been distilled down to six new compositions and one cover version.

Rodrigo y Gabriela have shared a first taste of the album in the form of “Echoes”, a cover of the Pink Floyd track, which takes up the whole of the second half of Mettavolution. Long-time Floyd fans, Rod and Gab lovingly pay homage to the ‘Meddle’ era prog-classic, while at the same time weaving their own golden threads into its timeless textures, to create something exciting, contemporary and unforgettable.

Kelly Tucker: Originally from Los Angeles, I grew up listening to all types of music. My first concert was Aerosmith with Skid Row, then moved on to concerts with Metallica, Lollapalooza, Guns N’ Roses, Soundgarden and more. One of my favorite shows of all time was when I was in college and someone took me to see the Allman Brothers play. I also scalped a ticket to see Pearl Jam and the amazing Eddie Vedder sing his heart out. My professional career started in 2000 at Nielsen Business Media where I was an assistant in a sales department and later got promoted to advertising account executive. When the recession hit in 2008 and the magazine was sold, I took a job at a call center and later got promoted to assistant to the CEO and COO of a global company. In 2017, I took a position at a pharmaceutical agency, and now currently responsible for coordinating meeting logistics for physicians and pharma reps throughout the United States. In my spare time, I work at Peace4Kids a non-profit in South Los Angeles and write screenplays in hopes to make a breakthrough.
