This year, the electronic pop group Ladytron made their return with the release of an eponymous album after long 8-year hiatus. Their return has been met with much appreciation thus far, as they already ignited crowds at several West Coast shows including this year’s CRSSD Spring festival and two sold out shows in Los Angeles. Building on this, the British group from Liverpool have announced a handful of upcoming East Coast shows that will add to their tour of North America.
The band will be playing four consecutive nights of shows beginning on October 2 at Brooklyn Steel in New York City, New York. Next, they will grace Royale in Boston before heading over to Canada for two final shows at Le SAT in Montreal and Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall on October 5. Tickets for Ladytron’s East Coast shows go on sale April 12 and can be purchased through their website.
Ladytron consists of Helen Marnie, Daniel Hunt, Mira Aroyo, and Reuben Wu. The band’s latest self-titled album has received wide praise, having entered Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Album Chart at 13. They released their latest singles, “The Animals” and “The Island” alongside short films, and are expected to do the same for the upcoming “Far From Home.” Last month, mxdwn was fortunate enough to sit down with Hunt for an exclusive interview, where we discussed the band’s return from break, the ideation behind Ladytron, and intimate details about their tracks.
