The band Vampire Weekend has announced a small album release tour to coincide with their new project. The group is planning on releasing their next album, titled Father Of The Bride, on May 3. The short tour will consist of three shows throughout New York state the week the album is set to release. The final show will take place in New York City on May 5 at Webster Hall. This last show is the largest event by far, featuring an entire day of performances. Doors for the event are going to open at 10 am and performances will start shortly after. Throughout the day, Vampire Weekend will be doing three full performances of the new Father Of The Bride album. The album is 18 songs and clocks in at just under an hour in length; meaning the band will be performing for 3 full hours throughout the day. Tickets to these newly announced shows can be found on the Vampire Weekend website right here.
Father Of The Bride is going to be the 4th album from Vampire Weekend, with their last project being 2013’s Modern Vampires of the City. The band has stayed relatively quiet during the time in between these albums, only starting to release new music again at the beginning of this year. The singles promoting the new album were released in pairs, starting with “Harmony Hall” and “2021.” After that, two more sets of songs were released in recent months; the tracks being “Sunflower,” “Big Blue,” “This Life” and “Unbearably White.” While this seems like a large number of singles to put out ahead of the album, the project’s size means that fans still have 12 more unheard tracks to look forward to.
When they first announced the new shows, the group released the event flyer on Instagram for fans. Later on, however, fans noticed that the flyer incorrectly labeled Syracuse as Buffalo. The band then went ahead and updated the poster, joking with fans about the incident.
