Third Man Records Launches Bandcamp Page with The Raconteurs’ New Cover of Donovan’s “Hey Gyp (Dig The Slowness)”

Third Man Records, the independent label founded by iconic musician Jack White, has launched a brand new page on Bandcamp. In order to inaugurate this new platform, the label has released a new cover of Donovan’s “Hey Gyp (Dig The Slowness)” performed by The Raconteurs. After an eight year long hiatus from live performances, The Raconteurs also had a set at the Third Man Records 10th anniversary celebration on April 6. The event featured performances from Third Man Records signees and various vender booths. A recap video of the event can be found below, along with the cover of “Hey Gyp (Dig The Slowness)” by The Raconteurs.

The Raconteurs are one of the larger groups signed to Third Man records, featuring Jack White himself as a member. The group last released an album in 2008, with their project Consolers Of The Lonely. Since then the group has remained relatively quiet, with its members pursuing other projects over the course of the past decade. This past year, however, The Raconteurs announced they would be releasing a brand new album. The band released its first singles for the project, “Sunday Driver” and “Now That You’re Gone” in December of 2018. The album is titled Help Us Stranger, and will be released in its entirety on June 11.

The new Third Man Records page on Bandcamp is the first time the label will be making its music available for sale on the service. The Bandcamp page was fully stocked with a variety of content from the label, including the new cover by The Raconteurs. Other albums that are now available on Third Man Records’ Bandcamp include Margo Price’s All American Made, Sleep’s The Sciences and Broken Boy Soldiers by The Raconteurs. From the website, fans can buy their favorite music in a variety of forms. Albums are available digitally via digital download and streaming and physically with both CDs and vinyl records. One of the most unique parts of Bandcamp’s platform is that it allows fans to donate extra money to the artists. When buying an album, people can choose to pay more than the asking price in order to further support the music they love. The page to see all of the things Third Man Records has available on Bandcamp can be found here.
