The B-52’s Gear Up For 40th Anniversary World Tour & Announce Documentary & First Official Book

The iconic new wave rock band the B-52’s released the dates for their 40th anniversary world tour. The group will be visiting over ten countries and forty cities beginning on May 4th of this year. Da Capo Press/Hachette Books also announced that they will be releasing a comprehensive history of the band in 2020. And to top it all off, executive producer Fred Armisen and director Craig Johnson will develop an authorized documentary film of the B-52’s. Needless to say, it’s a good time to be a B-52’s fan.

The B-52’s began their forty year career back in 1976. The band is quite quirky to say the least and their distinctive guitar rhythms and unique vocals demonstrate the B-52’s ability to genre bend. It’s difficult to pin the B-52’s into any category of music as they could be best described as 70s beach-dance-rock music. Anyone who’s listened to their biggest hits like “Love Shack,” “Rock Lobster,” and “Dance This Mess Around” will find it hard not to get up and dance to the strange lyrics and groovy beats.
