Power pop quartet Charly Bliss have released a new music video entitled “Hard To Believe,” which is set to be off the band’s forthcoming album Young Enough. This latest studio album project will be released via Barsuck Records on May 10, and will be followed by a spring and summer tour.
The pop-punk single features a phenomenal chorus and powerful performances throughout its nearly four-minute run time. The song’s catchy guitar hooks, upbeat tempos and strong vocal performances create a great pop punk track, recalling the early 2000s when the genre reached a major peak across the music industry.
“Hard To Believe’s” music video, directed by Henry Kaplan,” features a fun DIY aesthetic, offering an inside look at the band’s typical jam sessions. This intimate looks shows each band member’s quirks to give a short glimpse into their personalities.
“We shot the video on 35mm film over two days with our close friend Henry Kaplan 24 hours after returning from SXSW. Henry did a spectacular job of incorporating each of our personalities into this video, as well as providing a slightly fantastical, but ultimately realistic portrayal of a typical band practice,” the band’s frontwoman Eva Hendrick’s stated in a press release. “While we’re running songs, each band-member usually has their own inner-monologue running of either things they’re distracted by, or things they’d rather be doing. This video feels extremely ‘us’ and I don’t think we could have made it with anyone else.”
The band has been active for the past five years, however they only have one other album release with 2017’s Guppy. They have opened for acts such as Death Cab for Cutie and Wolf Parade in the past.
Hendrick has stated that this latest album marked a major point in her own maturation as a songwriter. ” “For a long time I understood my ability to write songs as like, OMG another one just fell from the sky what luck – another one will never come again!” Eva says in a press release. “Now I know, I’m meant to be doing this. And I accept and honor that.”
