Foals Release Psychedelic New Video for “Cafe D’Athens”

British rock band Foals released their fifth studio album, Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1, last month. The album is the first installment of their latest project, which will have Part 2 debuting in the upcoming fall. This past week, Foals debuted an arty and psychedelic music video for their track titled, “Cafe D’Athens’.”

Released through Noisey, the video for “Cafe D’Athens” is hazy yet absorbing, featuring clips of trippy flowers, fireworks, and various random shots of undisclosed locations that all overlap with footage of the band playing together. The video reflects the psychedelic vibes of the song, which features a distinctly catchy opening and frontman Yannis Phillippakis’s dreamy vocals. Have a listen below:

Speaking on the track Phillippakis states that it “was the outcome of [him] trying to teach [himself] how to use Logic properly.” The catchy “marimba loop” that characterizes the song was something that he simply stumbled upon and proceeded to incorporate in the bands jam sessions.

With the release of their latest album, Foals have been keeping fans satiated with their sharing of “White Onions” in early March. In February, the band also announced Spring 2019 tour that is currently underway.
