Ready for a night of dancing? You better be: indie-pop duo Terror Jr is set to headline Brooklyn’s Warsaw on April 17th. R&B/hip-hop artist Kossisko is set to support, with tickets for the show capping at $18 for General Admission. Warsaw’s doors will open at 7:30pm, and the show will begin an hour later at 8:30pm. This night of fun and funk is open to all ages.
Terror Jr was formed back in 2016 by lead singer Lisa Vitale and former Cataracs member David “Campa” Benjamin Singer-Vine. Their first release, the aptly titled Bop City, solidified the group’s now signature synth-heavy, intricately processed and polished sound. Since then, Terror Jr has turned Bop City into a trilogy of sorts, releasing two subsequent LPs under similar naming schemes – Bop City 2: TerroRising and Bop 3: The Girl Who Cried Purple. Their latest release, Unfortunately, Terror Jr was released this past January, and is sill as bop-filled as the rest.
Opening the night is rapper-turned R&B aficionado Kossisko, a Berkeley, California native whose polished beats will fit right in with Terror Jr’s sound. Formerly under the pseudonym 100s, Kossisko has a plethora of mixtapes to his name dating back to 2012. His music has been featured all over TV and video, with his track “Life of a Mack” featured in the video game Grand Theft Auto V and in commercials for the iPhone 5C. Most recently, Kossisko decided to retire the 100s moniker in 2015 and now goes solely by ‘Kossisko.’ This new self-dubbed identity also signifies a change in his overall sound, which now leans much more funk and R&B than hip-hop.
Regardless, with his funky jams and Terror Jr’s pop masterpieces, this will certainly be a show that’ll be talked about for awhile.
