The Jeff Buckley Story Told In New Graphic Novel Grace By Tiffanie DeBartolo Due Out April 2019

The story of singer Jeff Buckley is going to be told through the lens of a graphic novel. Tiffanie DeBartolo has announced she will be working on a biography of the singer in the form of a graphic novel. The book will be titled GRACE: The Jeff Buckley Story. Jeff Buckley was a singer songwriter in the 1990s whose tragic death in 1997 would prevent him from sharing more of his music with the world. From a young age, Buckley was involved in music. This being due to his father, Tim Buckley, being a musician in the 1960s. Buckley recorded his only studio album in 1994, a project titled Grace. On that album, the singer covered the classic “Hallelujah” worship song; a cover which would go on to become a classic song.

Buckley drowned in 1997 while swimming with friends, a tragic event for the music industry. Due to this, Buckley’s story was ended prematurely and his growth as an artist was stopped short. Through this new graphic novel, DeBartolo is going to show the growth he had already undergone as an artist, looking back at how the singer changed throughout his childhood and young adult years. By using stories and material provided by Buckley’s mother, DeBartolo’s goal is to show the story of an incredible talent taking place.

DeBartolo is an incredibly passionate music fan, especially regarding Jeff Buckley. A figure in both the music and publishing industries, DeBartolo has authored several books previously while also being CEO for the Bright Antenna record label in San Francisco. The two illustrators working on the book are Pascal Dizin and Lisa Reist. This will be Dizin’s second full graphic novel and Reist’s first. GRACE: The Jeff Buckley Story will be available for purchase at the end of the month, on April 30th.
