BABYMETAL has announced a new album scheduled to be released later this year. The band took to Instagram to announce the news, as well as a few shows that will take place in Japan where the bad is originally from. The first couple shows will take place on June 28 and 29th in Yokohama and July 6 and 7 in Nagoya. Both set of shows also seem to have a different theme. The first set of shows in Yokohama are listed as “BABYMETAL Awakens, The Sun Also Rises, while the Nagoya shows are listed as “BABYMETAL Arises, Beyond the Moon.” More details are to be announced at a later date.
A release date has yet to be announced, but according to the PRP, the album will be due sometime this year. More details about the album can be released at any point. Mizuno made a statement following the departure announcement, saying “It was days I feel blessed. It was a live, fun and happy time that everyone laughed and became one. I will also strive hard to see you again someday as Mizuno Yuji. Thank you very much for 8 years.”
The trio is now a duo, after former band member Yui Mizuno, aka YUIMETAL announced her departure at the end of last year. Since the departure, the band released their latest single Starlight along with its video. “Starlight” marked a new beginning of the band, who still continue to stick to their infectious pop-rock tunes.
