With the release of his much anticipated sophomore album fast approaching, Khalid has released a new track titled “Self.” This release follows that of “Talk,” which is the lead single of Free Spirit produced by British DJ group, Disclosure. Free Spirit launches April 5, via RCA Records.
In his latest track, Khalid transforms his introspections into music, as he offers listeners an intimate peek into his thoughts and emotions. The lyric, which at times features Khalid addressing himself in the third person, are especially evocative and could at times be dark and solemn. The chorus reads, “I don’t need another hand, I need a couple suggestions / Always had a little trouble with self-reflections.”
