Kyle Shutt of The Sword Announces Solo Album for May 2019 Release and Shares Video for “Big City”

Kyle Shutt is set to embark on his own solo journey this year. In October last year, the guitarist of metal band The Sword launched a Kickstarter campaign for potential solo album, and that venture is now coming to fruition. Shutt’s album is slated for a May 6 release and can be preordered here.

Accompanying his new album release, Shutt has also put out a brand new single titled “Big City” that is from his upcoming record. The song features some powerful guitar riffs that is complemented by Shutt’s stylistically gruff voice, which results in some heavy yet groovy rock music. The lead single from Shutt’s solo album was also released along with a music video that was filmed at The 13thFloor in Austin, Texas. Have a taste of Shutt’s upcoming project below.

Besides his role in The Sword, Shutt is also part of the Pink Floyd cover band, Doom Side Of The Moon. Earlier this year, the band released a three-song EP Encore, which features “Have Cigar,” “Pigs (Three Different Ones)” and “Wish You Were Here,” which premiered on mxdwn. For his upcoming solo album, Shutt tackles all musical aspects of the record, as he is behind every single instrument, including the vocals.
