Singer Lisa Hannigan and orchestra s t a r g a z e have announced they will be releasing a full project together in the coming months. Coordinated by Andréde Ridder, s t a r g a z e is a modern orchestra who will work to support Hannigan’s powerful vocals throughout the album. The project, titled Live in Dublin, is taken from a performance done by Hannigan and s t a r g a z e at the Dublin National Concert Hall recently. Along with the announcement of the album, the first single has also been released from the project. The song is titled “Bookmarks,” and is a previously unreleased track from Hannigan. The full Live in Dublin is set to be released on May 31.
Hannigan came to work with Ridder a few years ago, after the two performed at the same event. The two soon organized for Hannigan to collaborate with s t a r g a z e and the singer performed with the group on a few occasions over the next few months. Now a full album is coming from the collaboration. Fans of Hannigan’s previous projects are sure to love the upcoming Live in Dublin album, as it will feature the same vocal qualities of the singer’s previous work while introducing much more powerful instrumentals into her work.
“Bookmarks” was originally written by Hannigan while she worked on her last full length album, 2016’s At Swim, but the track never found a place on the project. The At Swim project brought Hannigan critical acclaim and various different award nominations. Now she has seen it fit to release the song, as the orchestral accompaniment adds another layer to the track. The official audio for the single can be found below, along with the full tracklist for Live in Dublin.
