The music video sees Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern decked out in glamorous, shiny costumes reminiscent of the Australian electronic duo Empire of the Sun, as they go on an adventure to locate a mysterious totem or object in a river channel. The duo’s latest music video is for their hit song “Fantasy,” which is a an audience favorite at the band’s live shows. Through the song, Sofi Tukker have displayed their evolution as artists, with its “atemporal quality” that features “collaging elements of the 90s Euro-pop classics”. The music video was directed by Charles Todd in Mexico, which is “one of the first places [Sofi Tukker] ever played” and is a place where they “really resonate with the people and the landscape.”
Speaking on the video, Sofi Tukker states, “we are on a journey to realize our fantasies, and we have to overcome obstacles to get there, but where we finally reach the goal, we instantly get transported to another world.”
