Wet @ Brooklyn Bowl 5/10

If you’re looking for a good time on a Friday night, then look no further. The delightfully eclectic and soulful indie-pop duo Wet will be performing a live DJ set at Brooklyn Bowl on Friday, May 10th. Doors open at 11:00pm, and the show starts just thirty minutes later. This 21 and over event will run you a mere $12 – quite a bargain, if you ask me.

Wet has disrupted the music scene with their interesting brand of indie-pop since 2013, when they released their first self-titled EP on boutique indie label Neon Gold. Since then, the group signed to iconic Columbia Records and released two albums to wide acclaim: 2016’s Don’t You and 2018’s Still Run. Their shifting musical tastes and growing maturity as artists show very clearly in their music: Still Run is a wonderfully raw, soulful album that is somewhat of a departure from the airy, more synthesized production found in their first self-titled EP.

Whether you’re a fan of more traditional radio-friendly pop, lean more toward a more singer-songwriter vibe, or completely immerse yourself in the various facets of indie-pop, Wet genuinely has something for everyone. This DJ set at Brooklyn Bowl will be one to remember, so stop by – your ears will certainly thank you.

Melissa Aiello: Hi there, nice to meet you! My name is Melissa and I am a 24-year-old passionate lover of all things related to music and live entertainment. I've been singing since the second grade, and playing guitar for the past five years. I grew up in a fairly musical household, with my grandfather breaking out his accordion and starting sing-a-longs at every family gathering. It was here that I began falling in love with music and its power to change moods, emotions, and lives. My taste in music goes far and wide - you name it, I'll (probably) listen to it. My hundreds of Spotify playlists include everything from Biggie to ABBA to the Jonas Brothers (thank GOD they're back together) to Dolly Parton and everything in-between. I aim for my little corner of the internet to spread love and positivity for all this beautiful music, and give you the opportunity to see or hear artists you may otherwise have not heard of.
