Endel Becomes the First Algorithm with a Distribution Partnership and Will Release 20 Albums Intended to Boost Mood and Productivity

This week, Endel, a stress-reducing sound app, has made history by becoming the first algorithm to agree to a distribution deal. Endel has agreed to distribution terms with the Warner Music Group and the two parties already have plans to put out a whopping 20 albums through the year that will provide mood and productivity-boosting music.

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with it, Endel is a ground-breaking technology application that produced personalized sounds to create a relaxing atmosphere for users and also to help them focus. The app has also been released as a free skill for Amazon’s Alexa, and it can be enabled through the Alexa app (Skills Store) or via Amazon.com. Apple users can also install the app via the Apple Store.

According to the team behind Endel, the app is supported by science as it “uses personal inputs” like heart rate, location, weather, and time, to create personalized sound frequencies that can cater to a variety of needs, such as sleep, relaxation, or focus. The app boasts that users will now be able to receive different types of sounds and rhytmes “that are optimal for brain and body at specific daily moments.”

So far, Endel and Warner have already put out five albums that are part of the “Sleep” series. They are Clear Night, Rainy Night, Cloudy Afternoon, and Foggy Morning. These albums can already be listened to through major streaming services like Apple Music, Spotify, and Google Play. Soon, the app will be releasing the remaining albums part of their partnership that will be distributed as the “Focus,” “Relax,” and “On-the-Go” series.
