Marissa Nadler & Stephen Brodsky @ Saint Vitus 6/13

Friends-turned-musical-collaborators Marissa Nadler and Stephen Brodsky will be performing at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus for an exclusive show on June 13. The show starts at 7:00pm and will cost you a slim $15 to attend. Oh, and sorry teens – this show is strictly for those 21 and over.

Marissa Nadler and Stephen Brodsky are both remarkable musicians in their own right. Nadler currently has ten full-length records to her name, spanning back over fifteen years – including her latest release, For My Crimes, which arrived in September 2018. Her prowess as a singer-songwriter is palpable upon first listen; she has an innate ability to create an entire haunting environment surrounding her dark lyrics simply with her solid, yet wispy vocal and acoustic guitar. Through her masterful songwriting ability and she’s managed to snag nearly a quarter of a million monthly listeners on Spotify who come back to her again and again.

Stephen Brodsky has quite the busy career as well. He’s been involved with a plethora of group and solo projects – notably playing in bands including Mutoid Man, Old Man Gloom, New Idea Society, and Cave In, as well as writing and releasing six LPs of his own. According to Brooklyn Vegan, Brodsky and Nadler met while at one of Nadler’s shows, and a collaboration soon followed. What resulted was Droneflower – an album set for release in April. In their first single “For the Sun,” listeners clearly see that this duo plays to each individual’s strengths, bringing the best of their unique musical styles to develop a sound that’s entirely their own. Grab your tickets for this show wile you still can – it’s sure to be one for the ages.

Melissa Aiello: Hi there, nice to meet you! My name is Melissa and I am a 24-year-old passionate lover of all things related to music and live entertainment. I've been singing since the second grade, and playing guitar for the past five years. I grew up in a fairly musical household, with my grandfather breaking out his accordion and starting sing-a-longs at every family gathering. It was here that I began falling in love with music and its power to change moods, emotions, and lives. My taste in music goes far and wide - you name it, I'll (probably) listen to it. My hundreds of Spotify playlists include everything from Biggie to ABBA to the Jonas Brothers (thank GOD they're back together) to Dolly Parton and everything in-between. I aim for my little corner of the internet to spread love and positivity for all this beautiful music, and give you the opportunity to see or hear artists you may otherwise have not heard of.
