After a long wait, the not-for-profit 37d03d Festival, formerly known as the PEOPLE festival, just announced their 2019 lineup. The lineup poses as one to boast about as artists like Justin Vernon, Boys Noize, and Aaron Dessner will be present. The festival will be located at Brooklyn’s Pioneer Works and is set to happen on May 3rd and 4th of this year.
Originally, the 37d03d Festival was named the PEOPLE Festival and instead of Brooklyn, it debuted in Berlin in 2016 according to Pitchfork. The festival took a break in 2018, but this year it’s back and the lineup is killer.
Justin Vernon will be making an appearance at 37d03d. The singer and instrumentalist is the frontman of indie folk band Bon Iver. Vernon has been involved with many major music projects including Kanye West’s 2013 album Yeezus. He also collaborated on Aaron Dessner’s “Big Red Machine” in 2015. Later the duo worked on an album together by the same name. Some of Vernon’s biggest songs include “Bruised Orange (Chain of Sorrow)”, “Love More”, “GAYNGS” and Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love”.
Along with Vernon will be Aaron Dessner, Vernon’s long time collaboration partner in music. Dessner is not only a multi instrumentalist, but he is also a record producer. He is most well known as a member of the rock band “The National”. This will be the third time Dessner will take the stage at the 37d03d festival.
Along with Dessner and Vernon will be Boys Noize. The German born DJ has worked with a number of big name music artists including Snoop Dogg, Depeche Mode, and Daft Punk. His first album Oi Oi Oi was released in 2007 and his sound has greatly evolved since as he worked with more and more musicians around the world.
Overall the festival should be one for the books. Here’s the full lineup below.
