Music is Removed Off MySpace Site During Server Migration

12 years music has been removed from MySpace as a result of the server migration, Pitchfork confirmed with Myspace representatives. Approximately 50 million songs uploaded by 14 million artists between 2003 and 2015 have been permanently deleted, reported by billboard. Not merely music, photos and videos from the same period has been lost as well.

MySpace hit its peak in the mid-2000s, knowing was the pioneer before any social media platform we are familiar with nowadays. It was popular interactive platform,  where artists can to upload their musical works, establish their fan base and connect with other artists. One example is Tyler, The Creator, whose early music from 2008 was unearthed.

For some MySpace users, they don’t need to worry about the leak of the cringest and embarrassing photos. Some feel the emotional loss of all the memories. “There is no way to recover them.” Bad news or good news? In the end, it seems like we can’t trust anybody, machine-learning algorithms either.
