It seems that Lacuna Coil have already begun working on their newest and 9th studio album. According to Theprp.com the goth metal band hailing from Milan, Italy have started writing new material for their forthcoming album. Bassist and keyboarding, Marco Zelati, shared a picture of the band from their sessions, teasing fans about what is to come.

Lacuna Coil were formed in 1994 and previously went by the titles Sleep of Right and Ethereal. They are known for their deep emphasis on and influence from gothic culture, which reveals itself through their harmonic yet detached musical sound. The have released 8 studio albums to date, with their 2012 Dark Adrenaline peaking the Billboard 200 chart at number 15. In November last year, the band’s co-vocalist, Cristina Scabbia, first shared news of their forthcoming record although at that time, the band had yet to start work on anything.
