Teen Spirit Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Featuring Elle Fanning Covering Robyn, Elle Goulding, Tegan & Sara and More for April 2019 Release

The soundtrack to the upcoming movie Teen Spirit has been slated for an early April release date. The album will feature performances of Elle Fanning, who is also starring in the film, covering an array of pop songs. The project will also contain features from singer Grimes and EDM producer Major Lazer among other artists. A few of the covers Fanning takes on over the course of the soundtrack include the hit song  “Lights” by Elllie Goulding and “I Was A Fool” by duo Tegan & Sara. One of the original songs featured on the album will be the track “Wildflowers,” written by Carly Rae Jepsen and Jack Antonoff. It will also be performed by Elle Fanning.

The Teen Spirit Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will include a few performances from other members of the movie’s cast as well; including Clara Rugaard covering the track “Tattooed Heart” by Ariana Grande. A rendition of the hit “Good Time” by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen will also be performed by various members of the film’s cast. There has been a trend over the past few years in the popularity of movie soundtracks, see Black Panther and A Star Is Born, leading to the creation of many more elaborate and exciting projects such as this one.

The official release date of the Teen Spirit Original Motion Picture Soundtrack has been announced to be April 5, coinciding with the release of the film in theaters nationwide. Also released was the full tracklist for the record and the first single from the project. The single is a cover of “Dancing On My Own” by acclaimed pop singer Robyn, performed by Elle Fanning. The entire performance was not released, but a 3 minute clip of the track accompanied by a short video was released onto the Interscope Records Youtube channel earlier this morning. If the clip is any indication of what’s to come from the rest of the album, fans of pop music will love this project.
