Tonight, when everyone’s eyes are on the first evening of SXSW, indie electro-pop superstar Grimes shared a new track called “Pretty Dark {Demo}.” You can check out the song below:
According to tweets from the artist, it’s not from her upcoming and highly-anticipated new album – which she states is “too ambitious / taking too long.” Instead, it’s from her “weird AR musical,” and she states that for the next few months, she’ll be dumping demos. “Made song and vid in my bedroom yesterday btw…so it’s rough,” she said in the tweet.
She recently shared new music in the form of a new song “We Appreciate Power,” which featured a highly-stylized video. This video is much more lo-fi, featuring the singer taking selfie-style videos with Instagram-style costume jewelry effects framed by butterfly wings.
